Die deutschen Gothic Metal Pioniere CREMATORY veröffentlichen ihr neues Musikvideo zur Single „Blind“, einem düsteren Vorboten ihres kommenden Greatest-Hits-Albums „English Hymns & Deutsche Hymnen“.

Das Album erscheint am 15. Mai 2026 über ROAR – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music, gefolgt von jeder Menge Live-Termine, und feiert 35 Jahre Bandgeschichte. „English Hymns & Deutsche Hymnen“ wird als umfangreiche 3-CD-Edition sowie in limitierten Doppel-Vinyl-Versionen erhältlich sein. Das 3-CD-Set umfasst „English Hymns“, „Deutsche Hymnen“ sowie „Engulfed in Darkness Demo“. Die Vinyl-Editionen erscheinen als Neon Green Doppel-Vinyl (English Hymns) und Türkises Doppel-Vinyl (Deutsche Hymnen).

Mit „Blind“, dem exklusiven Bonus-Track auf der „Deutsche Hymnen“-LP, zeigen CREMATORY ihre dunkelste, deutschsprachige Facette. Zeilen wie „kein morgen naht, kein leben bleibt / nur kalte asche“ verstärken die kalte, ritualhafte Atmosphäre des Songs. „Blind“.

Hammerheart Records hat die Neuauflage des Debütalbums „In the Sign of the Ravens“ der Viking-Metal-Band MITHOTYN angekündigt. Nachdem Mithotyn vier Demobänder veröffentlicht hatten, brachten sie 1997 endlich ihr erstes Album in voller Länge heraus. „In the Sign of the Ravens“ erreicht zwar vielleicht nicht ganz die Höhepunkte der späteren Veröffentlichungen der Band, aber es gibt dennoch viel zu genießen. Das Album bietet eine harte, kühle Interpretation des Viking Metal, und in dieser frühen Phase hatte die Band die stärkeren melodischen Elemente, die auf späteren Alben eine größere Rolle spielen sollten, noch nicht vollständig angenommen.

„A Million Days“ continues the band’s exploration of melodic gloom, featuring lyrics that touch on themes of endurance, internal conflict and the weight of „dead desires“. The song describes a journey through „a thousand fires“ and „a thousand battles“, centred around a heavy refrain of emotional isolation and the „drowning of a lonely soul“.

Morten Veland (SIRENIA, MORTEMIA und Gründer von TRISTANIA) hat heute den siebten Mortemia-Song aus „The Cover Collab Sessions“ veröffentlicht. Eine Sammlung von 12 Cover-Songs, bei denen für jeden Song verschiedene Gastsänger mitwirken. Dieser Titel ist eine Coverversion von „Take on Me“, ursprünglich aufgenommen von a-Ha, mit Marcela Bovio als Gastsängerin. Der Song ist ab heute, dem 27. The song of choice this time is the timeless classic ‚Take on me‘ by my fellow Norwegians of the band a-Ha. I still remember very well when this song was released back in 1985 although I was just 7 years of age at the time, it was something very different that I had never heard before. The band also grew to be the biggest success ever to come out of Norway, and the band is just as huge today. I wanted to make a tribute to a-Ha for a long time, but I could not decide on which song, as there are so many great songs to choose from, but I eventually ended up making a rendition of their greatest hit ‚Take on me‘. After discovering how well the iconic synth riff transcended to the 7-string guitar my choice was basically made“.

„I lost my faith and hope in vampires for quite a few years. They became the clowns of Hollywood, the cheap Halloween shop customs, the old and disgraceful Princes from the East. Until the film director Robert Eggers brought us Nosferatu in 2024 and I was immediately attracted back to that tragic, romantic character who Bram Stoker immortalised in his letters. I wrote Far from God in just one breath and it’s our first song about vampiric love in ages. I confess I felt the urge of, together with Moonspell, saving the face of Gothic Metal which became hostage of semi-tuned operatic female vocalists, simpleton and crunchy guitar riffs; and of lyrical content that would make Dracula impale himself with a stake in his bloodless heart. This song is the essence of this album, its title, its video, its soul. And you can even feel the fire of daylight burning into yours and your lover’s skin.“
