The follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed 2021’s debut album ”Into The Maw of Death” was recorded by Per Stålberg, Kalle Lilja and Daniel ‚Dollars‘ Deurell at Welfare Studios, Gothenburg, mixed by Per Stålberg and mastered by Johan Reivén (Audiolord Mastering) and sees Grand Cadaver further honing and sharpening their furious and menacing HM-2 influenced death-metal attack. Founded in 2020, right in the middle of a global pandemic, Grand Cadaver is comprised of prominent members of the Swedish extreme metal scene, namely Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquillity and The Halo Effect, Stefan Lagergren from The Grifted, formerly of Treblinka/Tiamat and Expulsion, Alex Stjernfeldt from Novarupta, Child and formerly of Mr. Death, Christian Jansson of Pagandom and Dark Tranquillity and Daniel Liljekvist of Disrupted, Vorder, and formerly of Katatonia.

Die Veranstalter des ROCKHARZ haben einen Film zum diesjährigen, dem 30. Festival (05.-08.Juli 2023) fertig gestellt. Das vierte Studioalbum von GRIFT, „Dolt land“ („Verborgenes Land“), ist eine tiefgründige Erkundung der Verbindung des Menschen mit der Natur. Mit folkloristischen Klängen und zu Herzen gehenden Texten nimmt das multidisziplinäre schwedische Musikprojekt den Hörer mit auf eine Reise in das Herz der Wildnis. „Nattens pilgrim“ („Pilger der Nacht“) gibt mit dem Ruf einer Amsel, der von Erik Gärdefors selbst gesampelt wurde, den Ton an, bevor bezaubernde Melodien durch Akustikgitarre, Melodica, Keyboards, Perkussion, Glockenspiel und eine Seetrommel die Flucht ergreifen.

Am 25.08.2023 erscheint nun das erste reguläre Album „Zombicron“ der Old School Death Metaller ROTTEN CASKET, das in den Tom Meier Studios (u.a. Asphyx, Soulburn etc.) in Enschede (NL) gemixt und gemastert wurde. Für die im Booklet zombifizierten Bandmitlieder Martin van Drunen (Vocals, u.a. Asphyx), Stefan „Husky“ Hüskens (Drums, u.a. The song continues by journeying into the mind of a man with a ruined reputation from his past deeds. And as the title ‚Uppskera‘ (‚Harvest‘) suggests, this man is reaping as he sowed, but he blames all his misfortunes on others. His name will not be honoured after he is gone from this world.“

“The second song we present to you from our upcoming album is ‘Verðandi’. Parts of the story of Ullur presented on the album are told through the eyes of the Norns – Urður, Verðandi and Skuld. Past, present and future. The Norns live at the foot of Yggdrasill where they spin the threads of fate of all men. The three Norns all get their own song on the album and here we enter the realm of the present with Verðandi.

In two ways this song has a really classic feel to it. Firstly it is heavily inspired by the more classic styles of Metal and has a very old-school vibe. Secondly it can be seen as a classic SKÁLMÖLD song, driven forward by a really catchy and folk inspired melody, yet still heavy and epic.”
