Am 30. September 2022 veröffentlichen die portugiesischen Dark Metaller MOONSPELL ihr neues BluRay/DVD/Album mit dem Titel „From Down Below – Live 80 Meters Deep“ über Napalm Records. Live aufgenommen in den Grutas de Mira D’Aire, einem der sieben Naturwunder Portugals, lädt „From Down Below – Live 80 Meters Deep“ zu einem Abenteuer ein und präsentiert das letzte Album „Hermitage“ (2021) der Band in seiner ursprünglichsten Form, live aus dem Inneren einer der beeindruckendsten Höhlen Europas. Die Aufnahme ist ein einzigartiges klangliches und visuelles Erlebnis mit einer starken Dosis an filmischem Flair, unwirklicher Atmosphäre und der umgebenden, widerhallenden Natur in ihrer rohen Form.

Nach dem bereits veröffentlichten Video zur ersten Single „Entitlement“ haben MOONSPELL heute einen Clip zum Albumtitel „Hermitage“ veröffentlicht.

Die Melodic Death Metaller BRYMIR veröffentlichen ihr kommendes Studioalbum “Voices In The Sky” in Kürze, am 26. August 2022 über Napalm Records. Die okkulte Dark Rock/Metal Band GOSPELHEIM veröffentlicht den neuen Song „Satan Blues“ als zweite Single aus dem kommenden neuen Album „Ritual & Repetition“, das am 21. Oktober bei Prophecy Productions erscheinen soll.

Am 28.10.2022 wird im I.P. Verlag das Buch „Die frühen Tage von IRON MAIDEN – Loopyworld“ (ISBN 978-3-940822-16-1) erscheinen. Das Frontcover stammt vom ehemaligen Maiden-Hauszeichner Derek Riggs, der ab 1992 nicht mehr für die Band aktiv war. Exklusiv für dieses Werk hat der mittlerweile in den Vereinigten Staaten lebende Künstler allerdings noch einmal zum Zeichenstift gegriffen.

„Die frühen Tage von IRON MAIDEN – Loopyworld“ erzählt eine Geschichte von Blut, Schweiß und Tränen. Autor Steve Newhouse, Spitzname „Loopy“, war zwischen September 1978 und Juli 1984 Mitglied der ursprünglichen „Killer Krew“. Als Schulkamerad und bester Freund von Paul Di’Anno betätigte er sich später u.a. als Schlagzeug-Roadie für den unvergessenen Clive Burr.

In den Anfangstagen von IRON MAIDEN gab es kaum eine andere Person, die näher an der Band dran war, als Steve „Loopy“ Newhouse: So begleitete er die Gruppe Ende 1978 nach Cambridge in die Spaceward Studios zur Aufnahme der legendären „Soundhouse Tapes“ und war auch Anfang 1981 bei der TV-Aufzeichnung des Konzerts für den „Beat Club“ in Bremen hautnah mit dabei.

Das Buch erzählt in bodenständiger Sprache die ungeschminkte Geschichte der originalen IRON MAIDEN und beinhaltet eine Vielzahl unveröffentlichter Fotos aus diversen Privatarchiven.

Mit einem Vorwort des ehemaligen Maiden-Gitarristen Dennis Stratton (der heute mit seiner eigenen Band Lionheart Erfolge feiert).

Die niederländischen Funeral Doom Metaller ANGMODNES aus Utrecht werden ihr neues Album „The Weight of Eternity“ am 30. September über Black Lion Records veröffentlichen. „The Weight of Eternity“ ist das erste Werk von ANGMODNES, das seit 2013 in Arbeit war und 2022 fertiggestellt wurde. In seinen 36 Minuten und 21 Sekunden Laufzeit zeichnet es ein völlig düsteres und hoffnungsloses Bild eines Menschen, der dazu verdammt ist, ewig weiterzuleben, nachdem alles und jeder schon längst vergangen ist. Die Verdammnis dieser unglücklichen Seele kann metaphorisch gesehen werden, denn wer jede Bindung an diese Welt verloren hat und so weit vom Leben entfernt ist, dass er kaum noch an etwas anderes denken kann als an den Tod, ist er nicht genauso allein?

Zur Unterstützung des neuen Albums haben ANGMODNES soeben „Under Darkened Vaults“ veröffentlicht, die erste Singleauskopplung aus dem kommenden Album, die nichts weniger ist als eine fast 15-minütige, massive Reise in die tiefsten Sphären des Funeral Doom! Der Track kommt zusammen mit einem brandneuen Lyric-Video, das hier zu sehen ist:

Under Darkened Vaults is a redacted excerpt from a text by the Romanian writer Emil Cioran. It is about ways in which those who are so far removed from life have learned to hide from its tireless oppressive pointlessness. For those who suffer from extreme existential despair it can become tempting to develop a morbid devotion to one’s despondency.

Das neue BATTLESWORD Album „Towards The Unknown“ wird am 16. September über MDD Records erscheinen. Das Album wurde im April/Mai im Big Easy Studio in Hennef aufgenommen und produziert und von Dan Swanö gemastert.
