Am 21. Januar ist das neue Album der östereichischen Atmosperic Black Metaller ELLENDE bei AOP Records erschienen. Die drei langen Tracks auf „Triebe“ könnt ihr euch auf dem Labelkanal in voller Länge anhören.

Founded in 2011 by multi-instrumentalist L.G., ELLENDE has always strived for the melancholy, anger, and beauty that is buried in our mere existence and misanthropy. Deeply rooted in black metal, the project didn’t fear wisely selected instrumentation in order to achieve a unique atmosphere and songwriting style. Together with studio- and livedrummer P.F., mastermind L.G. has entered studio again in 2020 to record „Triebe“ at Klangschmiede Studio E. This record is an adaptation, interpretation and mix of previous and new material which has utter importance to the OEuvre of ELLENDE. This extended version contains an overall playtime of half an hour with three songs and is released as various limited vinyl editions, a black vinyl edition and digipack with 8-side booklet.

Am 26. März erscheint mit „Portraits“ das neue Album der spanischen Atmospheric Black Metaller PERENNIAL ISOLATION via Non Serviam Records. „‘Four Winds‘ ist die Geschichte von zwei Mädchen, inspiriert von zwei meiner ältesten Freundschaften“, sagt Candice Night. „Eins verließ Long Island und zog nach Kalifornien und das andere nach Virginia. Durch das ganze Land zu reisen, um in Kalifornien am Ozean zu leben war das, wohin ihre Seele sie gerufen hatte, während das andere Mädchen einen ganz anderen Weg einschlug. Sie zog es in die Wälder, inspiriert von Wölfen und anderen Kreaturen der Waldlande. Beiden kommt in der Geschichte von ‚Four Winds‘ die gleiche Bedeutsamkeit zu, denn beide sind ein Teil von mir – vielleicht sogar ein Teil von jedem, der so wie sie in der Ferne Zuflucht vor dem Stress des Alltags sucht. Wenn man sich von seinem Umfeld eingeschränkt oder bedrängt fühlt, ist es wichtig, auf sich selbst zu achten, seine Energien wieder aufzuladen und dem eigenen Herzen zu folgen. Manche zieht es dabei ans Meer, manche in die Wälder und für andere sind es einfach die Sonnenstrahlen auf dem Gesicht, um wieder Energie zu tanken. Am Ende sind wir alle ein Teil derselben Geschichte, desselben Bildes – und wie unser Song sagt: „We’re all part of the trees and part of the seas and ready to start again…“.

Das Musikvideo vermittelt eine bedrückende Gefühlslage über welches Grey selbst sagt: “We wanted to treat it more like an abstract short film. Our vision was a more mature, slick video with horror movie influences and raw emotion. Being a huge fan of horror movies, I brought the horror concept to the table. Rich (video director) found the perfect house, set the mood, and brought it to life. The storyline itself follows the meaning and tone of the track. Overall, it was really exciting to make a video, unlike anything I’ve ever done. I think the whole team was thrilled how it came out.“

Provide you comfort, entertainment,“ vocalist Fernando Ribeiro recently said. „We sincerely hope this call reaches you. That you kindly accept what we offer. That you take our music with you to the place you must feel as yours. To your secret place, to your hermitage.“

„The video for ‘All Or Nothing’ was recorded in an empty theatre in Portugal and it’s symbolic of our days,” Ribeiro tells us. „Solitude dominates our lives and we divide our attentions and heartbeats at the groove of darkness and hope. At the mercy of all that can be and the nothing that we have to deal with right now. It’s a song that relies on a more intimate melodic frame, emotional, autobiographic almost, about the joy and the sorrow that is being in a band.“

He continues: „Life is a game you cannot win. You just have to play. Our job is done, we brought you joy. Every now and then.“

Das letzte Jahr war für viele von uns überschattet von der Dunkelheit. Es gab viel Angst, viel Wut, viel Trauer und viel Frust. Auch in diesem Jahr wird unser Leben nicht wie gewohnt ablaufen. Aber wir haben genau zwei Möglichkeiten: wir können uns alle weiter in die Unzufriedenheit zurückziehen oder das Beste draus machen. Es ist unsere Chance und unsere Aufgabe, einen helleren Weg zu finden, um damit umzugehen. Lasst uns nicht den Fehler machen und in der Dunkelheit leben und dadurch die Unzufriedenheit in der Welt steigen lassen.

Wir möchten mit Euch sein, bei Euch sein. Das geht nicht wie gewohnt, aber immerhin zusammen. Lasst uns das Leben feiern, das Positive sehen und uns an dem erfreuen, was möglich ist. Wer im Dunklen bleiben möchte, soll das tun. Aber Du bist der Rabe, WIR sind der Rabe und das Licht wartet auf uns. Lasst uns das Leben gemeinsam genießen und die Welt verändern.
