Save Our Souls! Diese wohlbekannte Notruf-Formel kann auf Blutengels neuer Single durchaus wörtlich verstanden werden, denn der Song ist ein Aufschrei der Verzweiflung, verpackt in ein Song-Erlebnis, wie es nur diese einzigartige Berliner Band erschaffen konnte. Gerade alten Fans dürfte die eine oder andere Gänsehaut über den Rücken huschen, denn so düster, rau und aufwühlend haben sich die Dark-Pop-Pioniere seit ihren Anfangstagen nicht mehr angefühlt. Save our souls! On Blutengel’s new single, the well-known distress call can be taken quite literally, as the title song is an outcry of despair, wrapped in a sonic experience like only the Berlin-based band can provide. Old fans will be in for quite a treat, as the Dark Pop pioneers have not been sounding as sinister, raw and stirring since their early days. Club beats and sombre, slightly distorted vocals are fused to one of the most intense dark electronic disco-trips of the last years, with both main pillars of the Blutengel-universe, Goth and Electro, forming a rock solid, gloomy and catchy unity. The captivating title track is contained on the limited, new CD-single in three searing versions: the monumental single mix, as well as two remixes, one of which was personally executed by mastermind Chris Pohl himself. As a special bonus, the band has also recorded an exclusive B-side song: “What You Get” instantly sticks with you with a gigantic club sound arrangement and Ulrike Goldmann being the modern version of a classic diva. “Save Our Souls” is back to the roots and totally new at the same time!
