Info: Instrumental beginnt es subtil gezupft auf einem historischen Instrument, mündet aber schnell in einem krachenden Heavy Metal-Riff mit markanten irischen Untertönen. Das wahrlich stimmungsvolle Trinklied von Sänger Micha Rhein und seinen Mannen trägt den Titel „Weihnachtskater“ und handelt vom alkoholtechnisch etwas derangierten Knecht Rupprecht. Und die Botschaft im Refrain öffnet die Tür zur positiven Sicht der Dinge in extremen Zeiten wie den derzeit aktuellen: „Freunde, wir feiern zusammen / Und uns ist kein Weg zu weit / Wir heben die Gläser auf das was noch kommt / Egal ob es stürmt oder schneit / Ein Hoch auf die Weihnachtszeit“.
CROWEN :: 2. Single feat. Shade Of Sorrow und Mira Cibulka
Die finnische Folk Melodic Death Metal Band CROWEN hat ihre lang erwartete Debüt-EP Prophecy über Inverse Records veröffentlicht. Um die Veröffentlichung zu feiern, hat die Band beschlossen, ein Musikvideo für den Song „Black“ zu drehen. Darin spielen Shade of Sorrow und Mira Cibulka mit. „The making of the song Black took place just before the previous Exosus single. As far as I remember, I first made Exosus and then Black. This is the only full song I’ve composed on an acoustic guitar from start to finish. The original harmony chords didn’t sit well with the distorted guitar tones, so I used basic chords, and the song worked better. Mira Cibulka composed the piano parts for the song, which gave it a certain kind of longing feeling, and this way, we finished with playing the instruments. The song definitely needed clean vocals for the chorus, so the only good option was Mika Kankainen (Shade of Sorrow). I’ve recorded, mixed and mastered three singles in Mika’s project myself, so it was easy to ask him to join the songs. When I heard the demos (sung on a cell phone with head deep in the bathtub), I thought the song was then finished. This is the slowest song on the EP, and it balances those blast beats. I’m very pleased with the outcome!“
TANZWUT :: „Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück (Special Edition)“
Nachdem die Spielleute von TANZWUT mit ihrem Album „Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück“ Anfang Juni 2021 Platz 11 der Offiziellen Deutschen Albumcharts eroberten, legen die Pioniere des deutschsprachigen Mittelalterrock nun nach und veröffentlichen am 17.12.2021 die „Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück (Special Edition)“ und gleichzeitig „Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück (Live)“.
Damit die Wartezeit bis zu den kommenden Konzerten nicht zu lang wird, haben sich Tanzwut dazu entschieden, mit der „Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück (Special Edition)“ neben dem Studioalbum eine aufwendig produzierte Live-CD zu veröffentlichen. Im Rahmen des Online Musik Festivals 2021 hat die Gruppe einige Klassiker ihrer Bandgeschichte, sowie ausgewählte Stücke ihres aktuellen Erfolgsalbums live eingespielt. Diese hochwertige Produktion ist die erste Live-CD von Tanzwut und dürfte die Vorfreude auf die im Frühjahr 2022 anstehende Tour ins Unermessliche steigen lassen. „Die Tanzwut kehrt zurück (Live)“ wird sowohl in der Special Edition gemeinsam mit dem 2-CD-Digipak in einem hochwertigen Pappschuber, als auch einzeln in einem 4-seitigen Digipak erhältlich sein.

MORTEMIA :: Die 6. neue Single dieses Jahr
Morten Veland (SIRENIA, MORTEMIA und Gründer von TRISTANIA) steht kurz vor der Veröffentlichung der sechsten MORTEMIA-Single aus „The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions“. Der Song, bei dem Brittney Slayes (Unleash the Archers) als Gastsängerin mitwirkt, ist am 10. Dezember 2021 über alle digitalen Plattformen veröffentlicht worden. Der Titel des Songs lautet „My Demons and I“.

Me and Brittney toured together back in 2016, when Sirenia and Unleash the Archers toured Europe along with 3 more bands. Brittney instantly impressed me on all levels with her incredible vocal performance, hard working ethics and kind personality. Brittney has an extremely huge vocal range and a very powerful voice that I instantly thought would fit perfectly for this song. I feel truly privileged and thankful to have Brittney onboard this project, and I am really looking forward to sharing this song with you all. This song is definitely one of the heaviest songs I have ever written.”
ARCH ENEMY :: Neue Single & Video „House Of Mirrors“
Im vergangenen Oktober kehrten die Metaller ARCH ENEMY mit ihrem ersten neuen Song seit vier Jahren zurück: „Deceiver, Deceiver“. Nun hat die Band eine weitere Single veröffentlicht, die von Jacob Hansen gemischt und gemastert wurde: „House Of Mirrors“.
Guitarist Michael Amott comments: „Musically, this is an idea that has been bouncing around in my head for a while, and finally it got finished. It all started with the guitar motif that kicks off the track, which naturally leads to the galloping 80’s-metal feel of the verses. As is always the case with us, we had quite a few different arrangements and demos of this song until it was, dare I say, fckn perfect!“
Front-woman Alissa White-Gluz adds: „‚House of Mirrors‘ is a song that twists its way into the human psyche. I wrote the lyrics during a dark time of strict, dystopian lockdown, and I think people will be able to relate to that feeling of being totally alone – but never truly alone – when you are surrounded only by past and future versions of yourself as company.“

Info; Die Geschichte von Tankards Aufstieg zu einer der meistverehrtesten Thrash Metal Bands begann zuerst bescheiden in Frankfurt unter dem Namen Avenger im Jahr 1982. Es waren die Demo-Tapes von ‘Heavy Metal Vanguard’ und ‘Alcoholic Metal’, die unter der Hand gedealt wurden und somit bekam die Band ihren Einstieg in die internationale Metal Community. Positive Mund zu Mund Propaganda rief seinerzeit Noise Records, ein neues Metal Label, auf den Plan. Die Band nannte sich von nun an Tankard (englisch für Bierhumpen) und sie wurden von Noise Records unter Vertrag genommen. Sieben Studio Alben blieben Tankard dem Label treu und ein Livealbum, ein Live Video und eine Compilation umspannten die Werke von Tankard und machten sie zu einer beständigen Größe in der Thrash Szene. Bis zum heutigen Tag touren sie global und machen Horden ihrer treuen und verrückten Fans glücklich.
