KATATONIA, die schwedischen Dark Rock Metaller, haben die Veröffentlichung ihres neunten Studioalbums „Dead End Kings“ für den 24.08.12 angekündigt. Das neue Werk ist ein weiterer Schritt in das Unbekannte und das Heraufbeschwören eines weiteren musikalischen Meilensteins voller Melancholie und Angst. „Dead End Kings“ wurde in den Ghost Ward Studios & The City Of Glass aufgenommen und selbst produziert von Anders Nyström & Jonas Renkse. Den Mix übernahm David Castillo bekannt für seine Arbeit mit Opeth und Bloodbath. „Dead End Kings“ ist das Recording Debut des Katatonia Gitarristen Per Eriksson ebenso so wie für Neuzugang Niklas Sandin. Frank Default zeichnet erneut für die Sample verantwortlich und Silje Wergeland (The Gathering/ ex-Octavia Sperati) ist als Gastsängerin zu hören. Travis Smith kümmerte sich auch bei „Dead End Kings“ um die Covergestaltung.
