Band comments:
„Sielulintu (”Soul bird”) is the first single and the title song of Einvigi’s forthcoming album. First notes of the song were actually put together already in 2009, so in a way the song also represents the bands long-span work to hone their sound. All in all, the song is a comprehensive representation of the albums soundscape swaying from light atmospheric moods all the way to darker metal nuances. The lyrics tell a tale of one of the symbols of Finnish folklore, the soul bird. The symbol has inspired numerous artists throughout time with one of the most renowned texts including the poem “Varpunen jouluaamuna” (“Sparrow on Christmas Morning”) by Zachris Topelius from 1859.

Markus Baltes about the remake: „For the first time in our history we re-visited an important part of our past again. Flamedoves was actually the first song we have ever written for Autumnblaze. It can be found on our debut album. When I wrote the new version, I had to find a different approach to the song. In the end it became not just a cover but a completely new song. And all I can say it’s one of my fave tunes on the new album. It represents the steps we have taken from the beginning til now and it’s a milestone for the bond between Arisjel and me.“

Arisjel adds: „The motif of „Flamedoves“ is as old as Autumnblaze. Flaming thoughts of searching spirits, angry and powerful in the past, gentle and fragile today, like on „welkin shores burning“. A wonderful song, touching souls, dwelling in hearts for decades, until today.“

PLAGUEBREEDER :: Neue Single zur kommenden EP

29. Oktober 2020

Die finnische Symphonic Extrem Metal Band PLAGUEBREEDER veröffentlichte eine die Single „I Believe In Misanthropy“ von ihrer kommenden EP namens „Annihilation“. Die EP soll am 20. November 2020 bei Inverse Records erscheinen.
facebook.com/Plaguebreeder / plaguebreeder.bandcamp.com

The band comments: „I Believe in Misanthropy was born out of anger. When you look at history and present time, it seems the only thing you can always rely on is misanthropy. Instead of enhancing negotiations or cooperation, people dwell in racism, hate, prejudice and violence. It’s like nobody is even trying to live in harmony with one another in the big picture… and at the same time we are destroying the entire planet. This track paved the way to Plaguebreede’s renewed style because this was the first track in which we composed orchestrations to create proper atmosphere. By our standards this is very direct and simple track, yet also very catchy.“

VREID :: „In the Mountains of Sognametal“-Konzert im Fullstream

27. Oktober 2020

VREID songwriter and bass guitarist Jarle Hváll Kvåle comments: „It was such a unique experience. It was a moment where we embraced our entire legacy, and I am so proud of how it came together. It was organized with a true Sognametal spirit, in a strong DIY manner with help from our closest friends and family. The response to the stream was overwhelming and we hope that when this pandemic is over, we can invite the audience to watch a special concert in the same surroundings. That would be mind blowing.“

WOLFHEART :: Neues Video zu „Horizon On Fire“

26. Oktober 2020

WOLFHEART frontman Tuomas Saukkonen says about the track and video:
„Of the entire album, ‚Horizon on Fire‘ is the song that best underlines how outnumbered the Finnish army was with only 32 tanks against over 2500 Russian tanks, 114 aircrafts against Russian 3800 aircrafts and manpower almost three times the enemy during one of the coldest winters of those times. I was born in the Karelian region and my father’s family farm is only 7km from the border that was drawn after the war, so I also have a very strong personal connection to those historical events. So, lines like below were written purely to honor the sacrifice of the generation that fought the war.

KATATONIA :: Neues Video vom neuen Livealbum

24. Oktober 2020

Preorder: https://katatoniaband.lnk.to/DeadAir

Vocalist Jonas Renkse comments “Here’s our first and (so far) only live rendition of ‘Behind The Blood’ from our latest album, City Burials. As weird as these times are, it gives us a little comfort to know that we made an attempt to defy the situation and did what we miss the most right now: playing a show.“

April 2020 saw Katatonia present their eleventh studio opus, the poignant City Burials, to unanimous acclaim but with the unforeseen global event transpiring this year resulting in their album touring plans being put on hold, Katatonia conducted a more intimate “lockdown” show which was streamed live from Studio Grondahl, Stockholm on May 9th. Dead Air offers fans a full 88-minute set containing 20 tracks from the band’s extensive and illustrious repertoire to date, with inclusions spanning two decades of dark progressive greatness, and essentially also debuting three of the City Burials album tracks in a live setting.

The tracklisting itself contains a very literal selection of fan favourites overall, having being voted for exclusively by the band’s worldwide fanbase, flawlessly flirting between earlier singles such as metallic anthems ‘My Twin’ & ‘July’, to the stirring emotional grandeur of new song, ‘Lacquer’.
